Baby Giro Stage 5 – Ben Healy makes his move

Ben Turner in the Maglia Roas at start of Stage 5 Baby Giro

This years Baby Giro has not been short on action, especially for TRINITY Racing.

After surprisingly losing time early in the race, our Irish National Champion, Ben Healy, made a big move on GC today to move into 7th place on GC with a 3rd place finish on today’s stage to follow his 2nd place finish in Sunday’s time trial.

Ben was in the early breakaway on an aggressive days racing, and despite being caught, managed to get away again later in the day for what would be the winning move on the stage.

It wasn’t as good a day for the other Ben in the team, as Ben Turner lost his hold on the Maglia Roas, but is still very much in contention in 8th place on GC.

While the two Ben’s have been grabbing the headlines, Tom Gloag has been quietly going about his business and now sits in 4th place on GC to make up three TRINITY riders in the Top 10, with Ben Healy in 7th, and Turner in 8th.

It’s all still very much to play for over the coming 7 stages and we’re looking forward to being in the middle of all the action.
