Tour of Britain – Team Report

TRINITY Racing Tour of Britain 2021

Stage 1 – Penzance to Bodmin – 180km

TRINITY Highlight:
We have looked forward to this race all season. Home roads for the team and competing against the best in the world. Lining up on the start line was a big highlight, seeing that the guys were ready to compete – a proud moment for everyone involved in the team.

Stage Winner: Wout Van Aert

TRINITY Racing MVP: Rudy Porter – In one of his first races for the team he came home in 38th position, just behind the leading group.

Stage 2 – Sherford to Exeter – 184km

TRINITY Highlight:
No fireworks today but great to see our team leaders Thomas Gloag and Ben Healy home safely in the group right behind the breakaway stage winner.

Stage 3 – Camarthenshire Team Time Trial – 27.5km

TRINITY Highlight:
Mid-table and right behind the WorldTour teams. The team doesn’t have a lot of TTT experience, so it was no surprise to see the WorldTour teams take the top spots on the day’s  Team time-trial.

Stage 4 – Aberaeron to Great Orme, Llandudno – 209km

TRINITY Highlight:
Ben Healy and Thomas Gloag spent most of the day on our TV screens in a breakaway group with Movistar’s Marc Soler.

Stage 5 – Alderley Park to Warrington – 152km

TRINITY Highlight:
Two big highlights for the team on Stage 5. Christopher Blevins, refamiliarising himself with drop bars, was part of a five-man breakaway, while our US Crit Champion, Luke Lamperti, outsprinted Mark Cavendish to a 4th place finish on the stage.

Stage 6 – Carlisle to Gateshead – 192km

TRINITY Highlight:
After an eventful couple of stages, we missed the break on Stage 6, with Christopher Blevins leading the team home just 10 seconds behind the race leaders.

Stage 7 – Hawick to Edinburgh – 194km

TRINITY Highlight:
Another super impressive performance from Christopher Blevins as he made an elite 6 man breakaway that provided the stage winner in the form of Yves Lampaert.

Stage 8 – Stonehaven to Aberdeen – 173km

TRINITY Highlight:
Super-aggressive racing from Ben Healy and Thomas Gloag to make another strong breakaway group, with Ben particularily active in the final 50km.
